| A few things to think about before hitting “SEND”…
Don’t assume anything you send or post ON FACEBOOK OR MYSPACE actually anywhere on the net is going to be private. Your messages and images will get passed around, even if you think they won’t. “How would I feel if my grandmother or mom saw this picture, read this text, viewed this post, or received this message?”
There is no changing your mind in cyberspace–anything you send or post will never truly go away.
Potential employers, college recruiters, teachers, coaches, parents, friends, enemies, strangers and others may all be able to find your past posts, even after you delete them. And it is nearly impossible to control what other people are posting about you.
Don’t give in to the pressure to do something that could make you or someone else uncomfortable and ashamed. Ask yourself, “How would I feel if someone posted this about me?” My character is who I am, especially, when no one is looking. What kind of person am I? My reputation is how others see me? How will this message, post, text or pic affect the person it is about? How will this message, post, text or pic affect the person I am sending it to?
